All slides are then scanned at 4000dpi - we can scan at lower settings however feel since this is a service you only should do once you really should get the best service possible.

Digital ICE is normally on as standard - this automatically reduces dust and scratches and in most cases produces a far superior scan
GEM is also used as standard and works to reduce film grain
ROC is an automatic colour enhancement process

Where needed images are retouched in photoshop to remove larger dust artifacts - correct any remaining colour balance and contrast issues and rotate images to the correct orientation.

Image borders are manually cropped subject to clients preference - see examples to help choose - cropped - uncropped

A smaller version of the image is also saved - which is suitable for DVD playback on TV - emailing and printing at 4x6 size

Full size images are around 20MegaPixels in size and are normally saved as JPGs - TIFFs are available on request at 10p extra per image. The difference in quality of the full resolution JPG and TIFF is barely if at all visible. Therefore we will send JPGs unless otherwise asked
